ABOUT ME

My name is John.
I was born in 1944.
I am a graduate of Lynn English High School (June 1962) . I live in Lynn , Massachusetts , which is about 12 miles North of Boston.
Lynn is a small sized seacoast city. founded in 1629 and incorporated as a city in 1859
Lynn has a lustorus career as a "city" gaining world wide recognition .
It was known as the "city of light" before Paris was.
It became Known as "Shoe City" due to the number of shoe factories,
and the fact that the "Commons" which is located in the center of lynn,
is shaped as a boot print when viewed from the air.
It was known as "sin city" before Las Vegas was.
It received the name because it accomadated the milatary who guarded the summer home in nearby Nahant, of a U.S. President.
It became the playground of the military because of
the seven movie theaters, the fine restaurants cafes and eateries,
the beautiful beaches , harbor and lakes
which provided swimming, boating and fishing.
the largest privately owned park in the country.( Lynn Woods )
which provided picnicking , hiking and several features such as stone tower, steel tower, the wolf pits ,and what was believed to be a cache used by pirates to bury their treasures.( Dungeon Rock )
a large beach front extending from Kings beach , Lynn Beach to Nahant Beach providing 4 miles for swimming , sunbathing , boating and fishing.
A well protected harbor which provides anchorage for boats, yachts and saltwater fishing. One of the most difficult golf courses in the world (Gannon )
Although not long enough to receive professional status, many professionals regularly play because of the challenge it offers.
Lookout Tower which offers a breathtaking view of the coast from Marblehead to Boston
and the rings of Saturn.
And due to to it's proximity to Boston and the "North Shore",
providing fast and efficient transportation by rail and bus or taxi
which earned it the name "Gateway To the North Shore"
It was the largest shopping center north of Boston where literally everything
could be found and purchased.
the shopping area encompassed a huge area from Chestnut Street in the North To Summer Street in the South
And from Boston Street in the west to Lynn Shore Drive in the east
providing literally miles of shopping with ample parking and bus transportation.

I was stricken with a massive stroke in 1987 , which left me without my legs.
I retired from Ma Bell. ( New England Telephone )which was combined with New York Telephone to Form NYNEX Telephone ( New York New England [e] Xchange )
I started working in December of 1956.
My first employment was with Elm Farm Foods The fourth largest privately owned Super Market in the country .
I worked there until November 1962 when I volunteered for the draft .
I was 12 years old , the Starting wage at that time was $.95 an hour. Esienhower was President . I then worked for the General Electric Company West Lynn Plant for about 2 years where I built tested and packed transmitters for the U. S. Air Force. In April of 1964 I went into the Telephone Company . I started in coei , which was a group of individuals who went around building or modifying the equipment in telephone company offices. I have also held positions as a Telephone Installer Repairman and as a Local testman. I retired In December of 1987 . I have dabbled with computers since 1969 , but I have no formal education in the field.
This site was written in straight html. The only graphics that I have used , consists of a modified picture of each of the women.
I did this in the hope that it would make the site load faster.
In 1964 I worked on a project which consisted of a series of underground buildings which would serve to provide emergency communication during a crises period.
In the 1990's ( with the end of the cold war ) these sites became the backbone of the internet.
One of the most interesting things that I thought about this project was: One site had an outhouse as the entrance to the site. At lunchtime or at the end of the workday 125 people came out of the outhouse.

About this site

This site was created with internet explorer.the font size is set to medium. the display is 640x480.(I have two moniters set at this mode.) netscape browsers can set their fonts at 12. or by using the control key and the ] (bracket right) key they can move the font size up. or using the control key and the [(bracket left) key they can move the font size down.I would suggest that you go to the actress page and adjust your page so that all of the letters of the alphabet are at the bottom of the page.I have been using this as my criteria to build this site.Don't feel bad if some of the pages don't align properly,I am rebuilding the site based on advice that I have received via e-mail.so there are several different formats.please be patient. thank you; john.
